Dr George Dikaios is a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Leiden University in The Netherlands. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy and the Hellenic Foundation of European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). Moreover, he is a Researcher at the Institute of European Integration and Policy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He has been affiliated with the Department of Ports Management & Shipping (NKUA) and the Department of Political Science & Public Administration (NKUA). He studied political science at NKUA (Greece) and Leiden University (Netherlands). His research interests revolve around policymaking and diplomacy, focusing on European and international policies for combating climate change, environmental degradation, and maritime transport. He has received scholarships, grants, and funding from European programmes (HORIZON Europe, Jean Monnet Actions), NKUA, the A. G. Leventis Foundation, the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLLF) in Japan, UNICEF, etc. He is a member of several scientific associations, often acts as a consultant to research projects, participates in international conferences, and his articles have been published in international and Greek academic journals. His first book is EU Climate Diplomacy towards the IMO and ICAO (Palgrave Macmillan, 2024). He is the scientific advisor of the Climate Change Hub.
